Canada Family

Remembering

I’ve written about Remembrance Day in the past. I’ve talked about taking my grandpa, a World War II veteran, to visit a local military museum. I’ve shared pictures of Toronto during the wars. This year is different. It’s the first year that I won’t be able to call my grandpa to thank him for what he sacrificed for our country and our freedom.

Even though I can’t call him today, I’ll be sure to wear my poppy and stand up at 11 am for a moment of silence. For a young boy who went off to war…and for a man who I’ll never forget.

What wonderful memories you shared of your Grandfather and I loved that you called him every Remembrance day to thank him. This must have been a difficult day for you.

I also popped back to your photos of Toronto during the war – great post. What a hard time that must have been for everyone.
