Weekend Time!!! Woo to the Hoo!
This is the first time Garrett and I have had a weekend off together in awhile, so we’re using it to get a bunch of wedding prep done. The big thing we’re checking off our list this weekend is the invitations. I have been designing them myself (I’ll share all the details soon), so it’s been a lot of trial and error. Writing the date and details on them made me realize that it really is coming up fast! Eek!
It’s about -30C today with the windchill and I feel like I’m been permanently cold for months, so I’m keeping today’s Friday Favourites all about spring. I keep reminding myself that it’s only a couple of short months before we have warm weather again….and every day the sun is up longer!

Lunchtime Wish List: I feel like I’m the last person to catch onto how amazing avocado is on toast. When did this become a thing? And why didn’t anyone tell me! This Goat Cheese & Avocado Toast looks like a super yummy lunch . See those little black specks? They’re black lava sea salt. I’d never even heard of that either!
Mardi Gras Treat: With Mardi Gras coming up this Tuesday and our upcoming visit to New Orleans this spring (!!!), I’ve got king cakes on my mind. How delicious do these King Cake Cupcakes look? These ones are super easy, using refrigerated crescent rolls as a shortcut.
Cute Weekend Craft: I don’t have any use for these Strawberry Pillows, but I just think they’re adorable. Part pillow-part stuffed toy, they’d make a great addition to a little girl’s room, or for a porch overlooking a garden like this one. You could make a bunch of different large fruit pillows for a playroom too!
Someday Summer Project: Now this is more like the kind of summer project that I could use – a Patio Cooler Stand! Perfect for a back deck or at the cottage. It uses a regular cooler with a frame built around it.
Spring Flower Arrangement: Between Valentine’s Day and my bridal shower recently, I’ve constantly had flowers at our apartment this month. It reminded me of how lovely they really are and how they can spruce up a room. Garrett’s aunt gave me beautiful tulips, which always makes me thing of spring. Now I want to make a tulip arrangement with sweet wildflowers like this one.
Which Reminds Me Of: Don’t those flowers look like something that Katie Daisy would paint? If you haven’t already been to her shop, you must check it out. She also has a fun instagram, mostly filled with pictures of her paintings being done in her adorable studio in the woods. If only we could all have somewhere so inspiring to be creative!
Fun Party Decor: This tutorial on Giant Peonies Pinatas is very detailed, but makes me feel ambitious to try it someday. So pretty!
Favourite Etsy Find this Week: This hilarious t-shirt totally made me crack up today. Just what I needed on a Friday.
