Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope that you all have a great day, even if you don’t celebrate this holiday…because, dude, it’s still Friday, which is awesome. Always.
And….I’m so excited to have a three day weekend because of Family Day on Monday. It’s been a long and cold winter, but having that little holiday weekend in between Christmas and Easter is such a welcome break. I fully intend to hop into my yoga pants after work and relax. Phew.
I’m loving this new version of Friday Favourites, and I hope that you are too. Over the course of the week, any time I find something I like, I toss it in here…and then I get to share it with all of you. Hopefully you’ll find things here that you like, or at the very least will make you smile….because, again, it’s Friday.

Must Have Flower: I’ve been looking at pictures of flowers a lot lately, as my mom and I start brainstorming the bouquets, centrepieces, etc. and these gorgeous ranunculus keep popping up. I love the tight, ruffle-like layers of petals, and they look great nestled among other spring blooms. Yes please!
Cozy Farmhouse Accessory: I’m digging the neutral palette of this room and the great contrast from this Home Sweet Home Pillow. Perfect for a relaxed country home, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that it’s another great tutorial by Shanya at The Wood Grain Cottage. If you haven’t been over to check her blog out yet, I strongly suggest you do. She has a great eye for creating vintage-like pieces
Sweet & Salty Treat: Over the holidays, someone brought these Chocolate Covered Potato Chips to work and I couldn’t eat them because of my nut allergy…but I haven’t stopped thinking about them since then. Just like my beloved chocolate covered pretzels, I can just picture how awesome the sweet and salty taste of these chips would be. I’m trying to be so good right now (fitting into a wedding dress in a few months!), but if I were to splurge, this would be it. Come Summertime, this will be on my to-do list. Guaranteed.
Adult Ice Cream Flavor: Another recipe to keep in my back pocket. These Oatmeal Chocolate Stout Ice Cream Sandwiches look amazing.
Honeymoon Stop: We’re still mapping out our honeymoon plans, but one place we know we’re going is Charleston, South Carolina. Everyone who has been there tells us that it’s worth the stop.
Old School Bakery Sign: Alois Daniel Bakery in Vienna, Austria…and they have their own honey bees on top of the hotel.
Small Kitchen Before & After: This ranch kitchen got an update from dark and dated to fresh and bright! I love a good window above a kitchen sink (especially a deep double farmhouse sink). Great choice with the cheery yellow penny tile and accent wall.
Date Night Movie Pick: After I had a totally bizarre dream where the new RoboCop is our son in the future (what?!?), Garrett and I both took it as a sign that we should go see the remake this weekend. I remember watching the original about four times in film school (I had a film professor who really loved it), so I’m looking forward to seeing the new one. Plus we both really like Joel Kinnaman from his days on The Killing.

My sister and brother are coming home for reading week from university this weekend and I’m really excited to have them back home for a bit. Looking forward to hanging out, catching up and probably watching way too much Olympics coverage (as if that is even a thing). If you haven’t already seen BuzzFeed’s list on the 10 Ways Canada Has Already Won the Olympics, check it out. It will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even if you’re not Canada. #GoCanadaGo!
Have a great weekend!
