Who else is super excited for daylight savings this weekend?
Yes, we lose an hour of sleep, but we gain another hour of light in the evenings, and that makes a huge difference to my mood. I love to come home from work and start to make dinner with the light streaming in from the dining room windows. It’s warm and bright, reminding me that all the good weather is on it’s way back.
This week’s Friday Favourites are another batch of this to lift our dreary winter moods. I even included some dark chocolate. A must.

Weekend Craft: These vintage inspired pillowcases are a great way to spruce up a room for spring and had a fun layered effect. I love the vintage lace details along the side. They remind me of the soft cotton vintage pillowcases my mom has. I always loved it when she put them on our beds growing up.
Large Shelving: I am all over organizing our space lately, and this wooden bookcase truly speaks to me, with it’s symmetrical design and large scale. Unfinished wood? Yes please!
Small Shelving: We built our bathroom shelves ourselves and loved them, so I could definitely see us doing a project like this down the line. The bare wood and “cast iron” bars gives this DIY Restoration Hardware Inspired Shelving an industrial feel.
Gifts Tags: These Wood Veener Gift Tags are such a cute way to update a gift.
Future Home Ideas: I have always loved looking at house plans. As a kid I’d grab that section of the newspaper every week and visualize the houses. Now days I find myself sucked into online databases of plans up for sale, like this quaint Sugarberry Cottage.
It’s cozy and cute but still has space for a screened in porch, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths .
Office Space: Of course one of those bedrooms would need to be turned into an adorable office space like this one, complete with sliding pocket french doors. Don’t forget about the bay window too!
Welcome to the Neighbourhood: And of course every new home needs a Housewarming Gift in a Jar. What a cute way to package up some fun goodies for a new homeowner.
Another Gift Idea: Okay, I’ll admit that I have a bit of an obsession with beeswax candles, but I couldn’t resist adding these to the list. I love the glass jars and lids!
Mega Chocolate Craving: I’ve been having a huge chocolate craving this week and these Chocolate Crunch Bars sounds like they would really hit the spot. With dark chocolate, rice krispies and peanut butter (although I’d swap that out for Sunflower Butter), they are easy to make and have that great crunchy texture. Second place would be Fudgey Chocolate Chunk Brownies.
Alternative Dessert: If chocolate isn’t your thing (which I’ll never understand), but give this Yogurt Granola Fruit. Bonus points for a beautiful presentation.
Have a great weekend!

I’m excited for the extra hour of light too. I’m not sure how it will affect my 8 month old son though- we have his bedtime routine finally set!
When I was a kid I also would love the house plans in the newspaper every Friday. I even used to draw some of my dream house plans. I eventually became a nurse but I think being a Realtor would’ve suited me better given my love for looking at homes. Maybe someday…
