So…the last couple of weeks we’ve been under quarantine at our apartment. I got sick last week and spent most of the week laying on the couch whenever I was home and only started to feel human again on Tuesday. Just as I was feeling better, Garrett got the same head and chest cold and it knocked him out too. He rarely gets sick but when he does, he falls hard. Then before I knew it, it was Good Friday and I had only posted on the blog twice this week and had a growing to-do list. I’m so glad that I’m feeling better now.
I spent today working on a couple of wedding projects, doing my first hair trial for the wedding (!!!) and now I’ve settled in for a night of preparing our taxes. I’ve got a nice glass of wine and a chick flick on, so it shouldn’t be too much of a hardship. Tomorrow the weekend fun will kick up with an Easter dinner with family and then more wedding prep on Sunday and Monday. We’re in the final few weeks until the big day and there are lots of fun last minute projects to get underway. It’s like DIY wedding heaven over here and I can’t wait to share all of it with you after the wedding.

Seasonal Side Dish: When I roast vegetables for dinner, it’s usually broccoli, but I love the colourful Roasted Spring Vegetables in this recipe. I would never have thought of roasting beets or spring peas. I can’t wait to try this for our next weeknight dinner.
Summertime Daydreaming: The tiny micro houses that you see online are a great idea, but there is no way that I could ever feasibly live in one. Then when I see a cute little cottage like this, I think of how nice it would be to have a place to getaway to in the summer. A small living room, kitchenette, loft bedroom and a screened in porch. I’d hope to spending all my time outdoors anyways!
Rehearsal Dinner Dress: I’m really hoping that the weather warms up in time for our rehearsal dinner so that I can wear a cute dress like this. I already have the shoes picked out and everything…just need the dress to go with it.
Road Trip Honeymoon Wardrobe: We’re going on a road trip through the Southern US for our honeymoon and I’ve been trying to brainstorm outfits that I can easily pack. I love the basics of this outfit – colourful flowy top, slim jeans, comfy sandals and some fun accessories. I’m also planning to leave lots of room in my suitcase for some new wardrobe pieces picked up along the way.
Summer Hair Cut: My hair is feeling long and so heavy these days. I haven’t been cutting much because I didn’t want to do anything to it until I knew what I was going to be doing for the wedding hair. I got talking with my hairdresser tonight and we’re planning to add some layers into my hair to make the wedding hair look good and then we’re chopping it all off right after the wedding. I’m so excited to have a new look and I’ve already booked the appointment for a few days after the wedding. I’m thinking of having it hit right around my collarbone so that it looks nice straight and has lots of volume when curled too. I’ve got a whole Pinterest board of haircut ideas (keeping my colour) and I’d appreciate any suggestions. I figure that I shorter haircut will be much nicer for summer.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter weekend with you family and friends. I’ll be back on Tuesday with a new post!
