With Monday being a holiday here, it’s been a short week, but that doesn’t mean I love Friday any less when it comes around. Garrett isn’t working this weekend (woohoo!) and I’m going to see my parents for the first time in almost two months (double woohoo!). It’s going to be a good weekend indeed. Now, if only the weather could get the picture and warm up a bit more. It’s a beautiful sunny day here, but then you get outside and the wind cuts through you. And I have no cute spring outfits that go with a bulky winter coat. Hope that you all have a bright and sunny weekend!

New Snack: I went to the health food store last night to pick up our favourite toothpaste, and I somehow left with a basket full of new foods to try. One of the first things that caught my eye were these Skinny Quinoa Crackers from Enerjive.
They’re peanut/nut free (yay!) and have no gluten, dairy, soy, wheat, corn or egg. They taste great on their own, but I can’t wait to add them into salads or on top of yogurt. AND..it’s a Canadian company. Love that.
Late Night Treat: It wouldn’t be a trip to the natural foods store if I didn’t come back with some chocolate. I love all the Olivia chocolates, but I’ll admit that they can be quite expensive. This is one of those things that I save for late night cravings when I just want one piece of really good dark chocolate. This new HempMilk Choco is like a smoother version of the Chocosol Hemp Gold that I always pick up when I see it in Toronto. They also have a coconut milk version that I haven’t found yet, but I’d love to try.
Adventures in Kitchen Remodeling: I’ve been following Jenna Sue’s entire kitchen chronicles as she remodeled the kitchen of her new home. From the stone walled bar (amazing!) to the banquet seating, she has done an amazing job, with so much detail and texture. She did most of it along with her husband and dad, right down to a big farmhouse style table. If you have some time this weekend, you MUST see this. I showed it to Garrett and it got us talking about what we’d love to do with a kitchen when we get our own home.
Homecooked Fast Food Find: Whenever we’re in the US and we spot an Arby’s, Garrett and I always stop in. The last time we went was during a layover in Minneapolis on our flight home from Florida a year ago. So when I saw this recipe for making those famous curly fries at home, I got so excited. We’ll definitely being trying this sometime this summer.
Protecting Your Passwords: After the whole Heartbeat Virus scare a couple of weeks ago, I went and changed a bunch of my passwords. It seems that we have more things to remember passwords for than ever, so when I spotted this Password Organizer from Petals to Picots, you better believe I was printing it right away. TIP – If you write down your passwords, store them in a safe place like a locked safe/drawer or a password protected folder. If someone ever broke into your home or computer, they could take it and access more than you think.
