Turning Our Lunch Break into a Game Time Moment with Mattel GameOn!

I work about five minutes away from Garrett’s parents house (and about twenty minutes from the apartment), so sometimes Garrett and the dogs meet me there at lunch to hang out. We’ll play with the dogs in the backyard, eat lunch and sometimes watch some TV (The Office reruns all the way!). It breaks up the work day and I love getting to spend the time together. The other day I thought I’d surprise him with a little midday pick-me-up – a quick game of Uno!

He’d never played the game before and it had been years since I’d played it, but we both had lots of fun.

It was a nice way to spend the lunch hour, playing the game and chatting about how our days had been going. We both agreed that we need to spend more time like this together, without the distractions of technology.

Garrett normally isn’t a big fan of card games, but he really liked this one. It’s easy to learn and you don’t need to get caught up in the suits or rules – plus you get to yell UNO when you win!

For the rest of the games that Mattel GameOn! sent us, we have a different idea – we want to pay it forward and help brighten up someone else’s day. We hope that the family gets just as much fun out of the games as we have from the ones we got from Mattel last year (I shared them in my post on our snowed in Games Day with friends!)
