Our sweet little Lucy is too young to read the blog yet, so I can share her Christmas gift early and tell you all about the exciting gift we found on Wayfair.ca. I’ve worked with this great retailer on a few projects this year, so I was very excited when they wanted to work together on a super fun and very special gift for our little girl.
Lucy has a great love of food and has really gotten into make-believe tea parties with her dolls and stuffed animals, so when Garrett and I started brainstorming what to get her this Christmas, we unanimously agreed that she would go absolutely nuts for her own play kitchen. She loves playing with them whenever we visit friends or go to her playgroup.
When I was not much older than Lucy, I was given my own play kitchen and according to my parents, I was so excited that I was actually shaking, ha! I still have fond memories of making up big pots of soup on the little stove and baking cupcakes to share with my teddy bears.
When we started to look into getting one for Lucy, I was happy to see that Wayfair.ca has an amazing selection of play kitchens, including this Teamson Kids Wooden Play Kitchen that fits right in with our own white farmhouse kitchen. I also loved that it had so much storage for all the play food.
The play kitchen has so many fun features like the chalkboard, thermometer, telephone and pretend water dispenser.
There are also two burners, a sink, turning knobs on the faucet, a clock, microwave and handy shelf. The knobs on the front even move and click. There are so many fun components to help her interact with the kitchen.
Every play kitchen needs some really fun play food too, so we’re giving her some of the great wooden kitchen playsets from Melissa & Doug. Wayfair.ca carries a huge variety of play kitchen accessories, including fridge food, dry goods, pots and pans, food groups, and a pasta set. Everything you need for your own little chef.
Two of the larger sets we picked that I cannot wait to dig into with Lucy is the Melissa & Doug Slice and Toss Salad Play Set and Sandwich Making Play Set. Both sets are more than just about play food – they have creative games and activities to help with counting, sorting and fine motor skills. Plus they’re super cute too!
Waiting until Christmas morning to let her play with it is the hardest part. When we put it together, Garrett was this close to letting her just have it early. He is worse than she is waiting for Christmas! Thankfully she’s too young to go snooping around the house, so we’ve got it tucked away in our room under a blanket until the 25th.
The look on her face on Christmas morning when she sees this play kitchen beside the tree – that will be the best gift I receive all year. Thank you to Wayfair.ca for helping us make a memorable and special second Christmas for Lucy.
