Chickens Christmas Flowers Garden Gift Ideas

A Gardener’s Gift Guide

A gift guide with practical, useful and inspiring gifts for the avid gardener on your list.

When you love gardening, it is something you truly think about year round – not just when it is sunny and warm! As a flower farmer (almost 8 years now!) and a micro homesteader at our old farmhouse, I love giving and receiving gifts that help inspire and support that growing creativity in others. I’ve put together a list with a few of my favourites to help you this holiday season.

1. Muck Boots

(I was gifted these boots. All thoughts and opinions are my own.)

These Muck Boot Chore Mid Boots are practical, hardworking and made for the toughest jobs, while still being equally as cute with this chicken print.

I also have the shorter Muckster II Mid in a floral green print and love those for slipping on for a quick visit out to the garden or the chicken coop.

2. Seeds & Seedlings

What’s better than surprising your green thumb gardener with some new plants and seeds for spring!

We have pre-orders for the seedlings and seeds we sell locally for Cloverhill Flowers, but you can find other flower growers that do the same near you.

SHOP SEEDS: Canada / US

3. Gardening Journal

I have a gardening friend who has journaled what is going on each day in her garden for years, and I love the idea of being able to go back and look at how things have done from year to year.

SHOP: Canada / US

4. Bee Earrings & Necklace

These beautiful pieces from Labs79 are created by a UK designer who puts so much heart and thought into her designs. The Botanical Gardens Collection is my favourite but the entire line is gorgeous.

5. Garden Tool Belt

A few years ago my sister gave me a garden tool belt from this brand and it is one of my must-haves when working outside. Plenty of pouches to store tools, gloves, even my phone.

6. Enamel Compost Bin

We keep an enamel compost bin on our counter and it’s perfect for collecting vegetable and fruit scraps for the garden. The charcoal filter on top absorbs odors inside the bin, so you never worry about your kitchen smelling!

7. Moisture Meter

Test soil moisture, pH value and sunlight levels of plants with a soil meter. Handy indoors and outside.

SHOP: Canada / US

8. Glass Greenhouse Ornament

A real greenhouse may not be in your gift giving budget, but this delicate and sweet Christmas ornament may be!

9. Egg Basket

The perfect basket for gathering eggs from a backyard coop.
