I have a serious problem.
And the contents of this box (from one of my fav stores in Toronto) is only adding to this ever growing problem.
I’m a wee bit obsessed with bird decor these days. It started a few years ago and its just been growing.
But how could I resist this bowl when I saw it?
The little details are just too much for my heart to take.
Anyone who has been to my apartment will have seen my weakness for bird figurines. They are everywhere.
On the table.
In the kitchen.
When one of these salt and pepper shakers broke, I filled the holes in the other one with plaster to make it into a figurine too.
Even the bookshelf has the Maltese Falcon on it.
I often use him in all sorts of decor around the house.
He has been flanked by flowers,
topped with his own Santa hat,
and nestled among leaves and gourds.
I get feel my obsession growing and lately I’ve been drawn to some new lovelies that I have found (and oh so desperately want).
The second I saw these Early Bird Paperweights, I was drawn to their whimsical shapes and the lovely pewter colour.
These sweet little Bird Nest Mugs from Pottery Barn are just too much. I don’t know what got me first – the nests on the sides of the mugs, or the incredibly sweet little birdies perched atop the handles.
What is your decor weakness?
Please tell me I’m not alone in this insanity. I’m keeping it to only ten bird things in my house at any time, otherwise this is just going to go overboard.

You are not alone. Birds are everywhere these days and recently I have become obsessed too! For me it started with a decorative plate from Pier 1.
P.S. I’m a new follower and love the blog!

Trees. Almost all of my artwork, purchased or commissioned, has trees. And as you know, I have a small army of topiaries, which is a branching-off (haha) of my original obsession. I have my eye on some Wedgewood Boxwood Topiary salad plates to mix in with my other china.
I’m going to check out Red Pegasus next time I’d downtown, and I suggest you visit a little shop in Bayview Village called Teatro Verde, which caters to your obsession entirely…
