Garden Update

Its hard to believe that its barely been over a month since I first planted my little garden in the city. The grass is starting to get that burnt look from all the unrelenting sun and heat, but some of the flowers have been growing wonderfully.

These Celosia Red are planted throughout the little gardens I’ve made out front and I’m glad I used so many of them.

It only took three days for them to look like this – already much taller and fuller.

Within a week they started looking even more big and lush. The fun colours started showing too.

This is how they’ve been for the past two weeks. Vibrant colour, but with a delicate almost fluffy look.

I love these so much, that I hope to be able to plant them every year. The little girl who lives in the apartment building loves them. I see her going over to touch them all the time. I can relate.

My little Zinnias at the back started out as not much and were slow to grow, but suddenly they turned into this….

Big, beautiful blooms. They are absolutely gorgeous and well worth the wait.

Some things, like the strawberries have not survived the heat and to be honest my watering as been inconsistent with my Summer schedule, but I’ve been slowly reviving some of the plants. If only I could convince my fellow tenants to not only enjoy looking at the plants, but watering them too.

Gorgeous Celosia Red. I love to have that also in my garden. Looks perfect with the roses. What do you think?
