Kayak Ride

Last month my parents got a kayak and I’ finally had a chance to take it out for a spin.

You lower yourself in and are sitting right on the waterline. Its great to have such a different vantage point than I normally have when I’m on the river. It felt a little tippy, but after a while I got the hang of it.

As I started paddling along, a familiar face showed up. Its my brother’s friend, Jack, visiting from Colorado.

The two of them joined me on a quick jaunt down the river.

It was quiet, calm and smooth on the river. We paddled along watching all the wildlife and just chatted. A great way to end the day.

I plan to take advantage of the kayak whenever I’m visiting while the weather is still warm. Maybe I’ll even try to take it to other rivers and do some more exploring. I’ve gotten the kayak itch and it won’t stop! 🙂

I love kayaking! It is one of my favorite summer time activities. I need to get up to Michigan to do that before it gets too cold.
