Friends Recipe

Martini Night! (with recipes!)

As much as I love spending time with Garrett and Whiskey, sometimes I need a little girl time. Just some great laughs with friends and of course some fun girlie drinks too!

Everyone took turns being bartender and mixing up their own recipe that they brought.
(Listed at the bottom of this post!)

Some were even extra fancy with fun garnishes! I seriously could have eaten that whole thing – fresh pineapple is just too good!

We sipped away at the drinks and voted on our favourites. For the record, mine was not a favourite. I tried to make Bethenny Frankel’s Belmont Skinnygirl and they were horrible. Way too much Peach Schnapps and it was too strong for our liking (they tasted like shots!). We all added more orange juice and club soda to the mix to make it (somewhat) drinkable.

Aside from drinks, one of the highlights had to be these awesome fruit nachos that Amy brought.

They were loaded with fresh fruit and plenty of cinnamon flavour. I’ll be sure to get the recipe from her soon and share it will all of you! (Maybe I can even convince her to do a guest post. *hint hint*)

Another popular treat were these adorable gummy skewers! They made for a super cute centrepiece as well.

Of course a girl’s night would not be complete without at least a little puppy lovin’. We all got to meet my friend’s new pug pup, Charlie!

What a goofball! I love the crazy pug eyes.

I think this picture sums up how fun and active he was. I can only imagine the trouble that he and Whiskey could get into together.

A night like this reminded me of how much I love girl talk and I wish that I lived closer to all these lovely ladies and could do this more often. If you’re thinking of having your own girl (or guy) night, here are some crowd pleasing drink recipes that we served up at our night together. Enjoy!

Antonella’s Tropical Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz Lime Vodka
  • 1 cup Strawberry Kiwi Crystal Light

Shake and pour over ice.  Garnished with either a pineapple wedge or a sliver of watermelon.

Shauna’s Blue Lagoon

  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao
  • Lemonade
Pour vodka and curacao over ice in a glass. Fill with lemonade and serve.

Courtney’s Raspberry Cocktail

  • 1 oz Raspberry Vodka
  • 1 oz Raspberry Sour Puss
  • Club Soda

Shake and pour over ice. This was also great as a shot with less club soda.

Oh how fun! Girls nights are the best. Those gummy skewers are so cool! I’ve never seen those before! And ah puppies always make the night even better! I have a long haired chihuahua haha. 🙂
