Apartment Moving Toronto

All Packed Up

Last night I headed back to the old apartment to do the last of the packing and start cleaning the place. Slowly but surely I’m getting it all done for the last load tomorrow and then I’m officially out!

After a flurry of sweeping and scrubbing, I decided to sit down for a break and catch up on some of my favourite TV shows. I’ve been missing so much with every night devoted to work or moving. I see a big tv show binge happening next week while I organize the new place.

Realizing that I’ve packed up most of my dishes and have no furniture left, I decided to have a little picnic on the bed and ordered in my favourite healthy (and nut free!) Indian food from Veda. I got a butter chicken and mix vegetable curry on spinach basmati rice, with a whole wheat naan and samosa on the side. As ambitious as I was ordering all that food, I didn’t even eat half of it, but the leftovers will be greatly appreciated when I get home late tonight.

Now everything that is left (except for the bed) is packed away into a corner ready for tomorrow morning.

And this is what the rest of the living room looks like. Hard to believe that only a couple of weeks ago, my little home office was in that corner.

Tonight is my last night being a Torontonian and its fitting that I’ll be going to someone else’s housewarming for their big move to the city. Welcoming them into the city while I say goodbye to my own home for the past 4 years is a fitting finale. Of course I’m getting nostalgic for all the things that I’ve loved about this city, but I’m much more excited about the possibilites for my new home.
