Amanda – I’m not very good with plants either. And you are right a fake “alive” plant is better than a dead real plant. Thanks for stopping my blog from the Pinterest Challenge.
I share your black thumb…or thought I did…over the last year or so I’ve learned that I’m just not wise in the ways of the houseplant. Plants in the ground are so much easier!
Potted plants are harder because they rely on their people for EVERYTHING. Before I had a yard, a friend promised me that plants in the ground would be a ton easier — and she was right! While outdoor plants can regulate their moisture from the soil around them, potted plants need us to get it just right — too much or too little will kill them. I don’t know how “plant people” know just the right amount of water, but that’s not an instinct I possess.
And light? If the bathroom doesn’t get any natural light, I’d like to think that even a plant person would have trouble getting one to flourish. Fake is best in that situation, and you chose a really cute one!
I completely agree with you about ground plants vs. potted plants. When I had my apartment in Toronto I would always do a garden out front, and after a couple of weeks it would be pretty self sufficient for the rest of the Summer, with just some regular watering a little weeding here and there. Houseplants are so much harder to take care of. Hopefully this new place lets me dig up some of the dirt out front ๐
I’ve been having similar trouble with houseplants. Your fake one looks pretty good though! Just don’t forget to dust it. ๐
Thanks! I hate dusting, but its much better than having dead plants hanging around, haha
Hello! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after going through some of the articles I realized it’s new to me.
Nonetheless, I’m definitely happy I came across it and I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back regularly!
