I’m linking up to Insta-Friday today at Life Rearranged – sharing my favourite photos from my phone over the last week.
This week has been crazy busy. I’ve been out most evenings (family, friends, yoga, appointments) and now I’m away from home for the next three nights and even though it is all for good things, sometimes I still miss being at home.
I tried to sneak in a post-work nap one day after work, but Whiskey thought it looked so good that he climbed up on top of me to join in and fell asleep on my shoulder, while he leaned against the couch. It looked uncomfortable but he settled in for a good 15 minutes power nap with me.
I had to make a trip to the city, so I popped into Yorkdale to pick a few things up and of course I had to go into Pottery Barn. I don’t think it is physically possible for me to just walk by this store.
With my plan to get back into cooking new things (I’m in a rut!) I made a batch of Flourless Black Bean Coconut Brownies…and they were AWESOME! I may have even had one for breakfast alongside a protein shake one morning (okay, two mornings…in a row).
I tried to stick to the new Weekly Dinner Menu, with only a few hiccups. Next week will be even better!
While doing errands for work, I drove past a weekday farmers market and I popped in to see what they had. Sampling fresh Ontario strawberries was the best part. They are so juicy and flavourful! Worth the extra bit of money to have them local.
Lunch was a small focaccia bread with garlic olive oil and cheddar. Delish!
My office celebrated all the May birthdays this week, and this lucky birthday girl went home with a piece of red velvet cake with thick cream cheese icing. I seriously had to force myself not to eat it until Garrett got home so I could share it with him. That’s true love, I tell ya. (I may have nipped into the icing a bit on the side though…just saying)
Speaking of my handsome man…this week we decided to watch the Hatfields & McCoys mini series with Kevin Costner and Bill Pullman. Loved it! Plus it meant I got 6 hours of cuddle time with this guy 🙂 (Even if it was while we watched hillbillies shooting each other to smithereens…I’ll take it!)
Whiskey, on the other hand, was more inclined to burrow under his blankets. We call this photo “Paranormal Dogtivity” Have you seen this video yet?
I am really not a big fan of shopping, but I have to admit that I love getting new things and what I love even more is getting them for a steal. I’m all about the discounts and very rarely ever pay retail price for something, unless its something that I really want/need. I found this red faux leather purse for $20 at a store that is closing down. Love it!
Hope you all have a great weekend! I’ve got my yoga mat and running shoes packed for an active weekend at my friend’s cottage. Let’s hope we have good weather!

Those strawberries and brownies look delish! I’m completely intrigued by the all of the black bean brownie recipes I’ve seen floating around.
Have a great weekend!
