Birthday Christmas Holidays

Christmas Vacation Begins!

I felt like a kid at the end of school yesterday afternoon, as I quickly dashed out of work. I was so excited to have an entire week off of work, with plenty of great events ahead of us with family and friends. I love getting to see everyone this time of year and catch up with them.

My first Christmas vacation stop was up to my parents’ house for a special birthday dinner for my brother and sister.

My mom made a fantastic cheese fondue dinner. We filled up on crusty bread and crisp apples dipped in cheese.

Dinner was followed by a stellar dessert – Red Velvet Cheesecake! What a great flavour combination!

Happy Birthday you two!

It was so rich and decadent! I couldn’t even finish a tiny slice (but that just means more leftovers for later!)

The first thing I did this morning was grab Whiskey and head out on our walk to the corner store to grab a copy of the Toronto Star. My Double Chocolate Chip Mint Cookies recipe is in the paper today!

Someone got a little cold on our walk and had to be tucked in for a snuggle at the end.

It was great to see it in print! I’m so honoured to be a part of this year’s Cookie Calendar.

Just seeing them makes me want to make a batch for all our holiday dinners this week.

I’m going to make breakfast and enjoy a little Saturday morning paper reading. Now all I have to decide is what flavour of pancake I want to make. Maybe Yes I Want Cake’s Hummingbird Pancakes?

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend.
