There is nothing that Whiskey loves more than to be in the very middle of everything we’re doing. If I’m stretching on the floor, he’s right there with me. My own personal cheerleader. If Garrett is going through a box of paperwork for our taxes, Whiskey is looking in the box too. Just in case some rogue squirrel is hiding in there.
So it was no surprise when he came bounding into the bedroom to see what fun could be had while Garrett and I worked together to put the cover back on the duvet. The same duvet cover that I had to wash because a snoopy dog found a random blueberry on the floor which prompted him to throw up all over the bed. Thanks Whiskey – you were right, it needed to be washed anyways. Good on you to just expedite the process.
At first we started laughing that he had jumped on the cover. He was making a little cocoon in the warm sheets. How sweet. Now shoo. But he didn’t move. All 11 lbs of him was determined to make this his new lounging spot. If we could just move it closer to the sunbeams, that would be great.
I tried to lure him out with the offer of a bone. He was intrigued but not budging. I realize that he’s light enough to just scoop up and move but there is something about bargaining with another species that is just too fun to pass up. Maybe a piece of cheese? Nothing.
Then the big guns came out. I’m talking W-A-L-K. That was what did it. He shot out of the bed and raced to the door while we finished stuffing the duvet. All I wanted to do was flop down on the newly fluffed bed but you better believe that he was determined to go out now. I should have just let him keep the duvet cover.
