I’m celebrating every day of December with 24 of my favourite cookie and bar recipes to get you from now until Christmas Eve. I love baking this time of year and sharing it with our family and friends. And of course you can’t forget to leave some out with a glass of milk for Santa on Christmas Eve. (Although when I was growing up Santa always liked a rum and coke left out instead, ha!)
All the recipes are peanut and nut-free (as long as you’re buying nut-free ingredients and bake in a nut-free kitchen), and I’ve marked a few that can be made gluten-free or dairy-free as well.
I’ve pulled together 24 of my favourite cookie, brownie and square recipes that are perfect for a cookie swap, to give as gifts or take to your next holiday get together. I like to pick a few of them whenever I make a dessert platter around the holidays, and load it up with other homemade festive treats too, like White Christmas Crunch, Peppermint Bark, Easy Fudge, Pretzel Bark, Salted Chocolate Caramels and Christmas candies.

Yum!!! What a great idea! This year, I decided to buy 24 Christmas books instead of sweets/toys for our countdown calendar. My two baby girls (2 and 3 years old) unwrap a book every night and we read it together as a family. I love the cookie idea though and might use it for my husband and I, to add to our activity list. A few years back, before Life at Cloverhill, I think you posted a list of activities Garrett and yourself would do as a couple during Christmastime. Will you do soemthing similar this year? Or do you have a family Christmas bucket list? I would love some ideas to update mine. I know you must be super busy with the new addition to your family! Congratulations by the way! I wish you guys a magical Holiday season and a life filled with love, hapiness, health and surprises!

I hope you had a lovely holiday Alexe! I love the idea of a book countdown. I’ll have to think of that for the girls next year. That’s a good memory about our activities advent – we did that a few years back and loved it. I’d like to do something similiar when the kids are a bit older. It was a little hectic trying to do too many Christmas activities with a toddler and newborn, so we just did a few things that we could manage, but I’d love to share more with them as they get older. Happy New Year to you and your family! 🙂
